Exploration results update

Platfields Limited ("Platfields" or "the company") is pleased to report an update to its mineral resources and exploration targets on its Berg, Liger and Grootfonteinberg Projects. The year-long drilling programme undertaken by the company was completed in December 2009 and the key updates are summarised below:

• An exploration target of between 0.16 and 21.98 million ounces of 4E PGE (Pt, Pd, Rh, Au) on the Merensky Reef on the Berg Project, and an Inferred Mineral Resource on the UG2 Reef on the Berg Project of 3.57 million ounces of 4E PGE;
• An exploration target of between 1.20 and 10.71 million ounces of 4E PGE is targeted as attributable to Platfields Limited on the Liger Project across both the Merensky and UG2 Reefs;
• An exploration target on the Beta Reef on the Grootfonteinberg Project of between 0.04 and 3.55 million ounces of gold on the farm Grootfonteinberg 561KT.

The drilling programme was completed by Rock and Stock Investments (Pty) Ltd and the competent person was Mr J.P. Hattingh, a registered professional with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), registration number: 400039/02. Mr J.P. Hattingh is also a member of the Geological Society of South Africa.
